So it’s been 2 weeks since The Cookies & Cups Cookbook was released. I feel a little bit like the Mother of the Bride…
Let me explain. In the weeks…months…years… leading up to the release of my book there has always been something to do. Whether it be edits, photos, recipe development, marketing strategies… I’ve had a plan, a to-do list, a deadline!
Now that the book available for you to hold in your hands it’s a mixture of crazy feelings!
Of course there is the relief that it’s out there in the world…a real life thing that you can all buy. But on the other side there is that, “What now?” feeling. So much of my life these past 2 years has been devoted to this book, and now instead of the anticipation of it I am filled with…do they LIKE it? Are people going to BUY it? What do I do NOW? It almost makes me want to dig a hole and bury head until next year. So like a mom, planning her daughter’s wedding…you spend so much time planning and helping and doing and then your daughter gets married and starts her life and you are there with a little bit of a lull. Did that even MAKE SENSE? My book got married?
But can I just tell you that probably my most favorite part of all this “other side” stuff is seeing YOU with the book in your hands (omg keep posting these pictures I am obsessed), reading your reviews of the book (CRAZY great, except for that one lady) AND and seeing what you’re MAKING!
Your pictures from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter… have been SO fantastic!
They have made my heart so full, I can’t even explain to you.
You friends, are outstanding.
What I also am loving is that so you are making SO many of the recipes. My goal when I wrote this book was to create a book that you would bookmark the HECK out of.

And seeing your pictures proves to me I did just that…the variety of recipes being made from The Cookies & Cups Cookbook is FANTASTIC! If everyone was only making the Salty Browned Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies, I would know that I failed you.
I want this to be your go-to for recipes you know will be a success. A book where everything looks like a “must make”.
SO KEEP THE PICTURES COMING! Keep emailing me and telling me what you’re making! Keep leaving reviews!
I truly appreciate you.
xo
I received my copy and have been drooling over the pictures. I’ve marked a number of recipes to make, but wanted to let you know this is one gorgeous cookbook – major kudos to you! I’ll be buying another copy for my granddaughter who loves to bake very soon.
THat is so nice! Thank you so much 🙂
Congratulations Shelly on your book!! I’m not waiting for my birthday or Mother’s Day or Christmas, I’m treating myself to this book ASAP!!! It’s on my list of things to pick up this week! The guys at the tanker base will thank you I’m sure, once summer starts. I bake for them all the time. Now I’ll have new recipes to send goodies out to them. I can’t wait!!
Love that you bake for those guys!! That is great!
Shelly, I love that analogy! The after-a-big-event-letdown that few talk about 🙂 (2 daughters married, 1 to go!)
One thing I love about your cookbook is that there are no “filler” recipes. Each one is a home-run with beautiful photos and superb instructions. My husband asked who had done your photos–after I looked it up, I told him you did and we were both blown away. You are one talented lady! Thank you so much for the years invested in this treasure trove.
That is the sweetest thing! Yep, all the photos were done at my house…we had a LOT of food!!
I run my mouth all day long about this cookbook!! It’s just so fantastic and great for any level cook. I even emailed QVC and told them they HAD to have you in the Cookbook Corner on In The Kitchen With David! 🙂 So hopefully they listen to me…because you know I’ve got such influence 😛
Oh my gosh you are too sweet!!!! I hope they listen!!
I made the Glazed Lemmies over the weekend & they are fantastic. I look forward to making something different this weekend. Great cookbook and resource book.
I had pre-ordered your cookbook and as soon as I got it I read through the entire thing! Now, I need to decide which recipe to make first!! haven’t had time to bake since I got it! I’m also going to go back and earmark every recipe I want to make. I’m afraid I will have the entire book dog-eared! Thanks, Shelly!!
Love hearing that! Hope you’re able to bake soon!!
Yesterday I made lemon cookies to bring to work (they were gone within an hour) and today I’m bringing the Oreo cream cookies in for a baby shower. I figured those would satisfy any pregnant woman’s craving haha
Let me know how you like them!!
It was a big hit at work and at my daughter’s school. They all loved it!
Oh my gosh, the pictures of those little girls. I’m dead. So adorable.
That’s my daughter Hannah 🙂 She and I are baking our way through the cookbook together. She loves it!!
I made the nutella brownies just last week…oh my goodness, I was blown away and a small sliver quickly turned into 12…
Story of my life! haha! So glad you liked them!
Haha I love that analogy! That totally makes sense! Now you just have to sit back and enjoy the ride as people enjoy your beautiful book! I’ve put it on my birthday wishlist. Can’t wait!
Aww thank you!
