Hi! I’m Shelly and I’m an addict. Of the buttercream sort. I started this site a few years ago as a way to justify my sugary, buttery obsession with desserts. It has worked out well for me so far, because as it turns out you guys all love sugary, buttery desserts too! It feels good to know you're not alone, doesn’t it?

We cook in this family. I make desserts, quick breads, smoothies, casseroles, etc., and my husband is the “meat and grill” guy! My dad was a chef before there were such “named” people and my mom was also an excellent cook. My dad had his own restaurant. My nephew also works in the food industry. I realized too late that I wanted to go to cooking school, so in the meantime, we have a new home and a marvelous kitchen with all the bells and whistles and a prep kitchen for all that extra stuff. We loving having people over for meals that we make and also sharing a Midwestern tradition of having potlucks. At Christmas, we bake cookies and sweets for all our neighbors. I’m looking forward to having your recipe book added to my collection by Christmas! Bon Appetit!

My favorite people to bake with would be people who are close to me like my family members and friends. Baking with others is always fun!

I don’t have children, so my favorite people to cook with are my nephews. We go to the farmer’s market, then come home and whip up something healthful. Then we whip up something sinful for dessert. They have really taken to cooking. My mini-chefs in training.

My Husband. He really appreciate everything I cook or bake. Even if it may not turn out as good as the recipe looks he will never say he doesn’t like it.

My favorite cooking partner in crime is my best friend. We’ve been baking together since we were kids. Our concoctions didn’t always turn out great back then but we had a blast every time.

While I prefer to cook/bake by myself, when my Grandma was alive she was my favorite cooking partner and taught me so much. Now, it’s my sister–she’s eager to learn and assist.
