Chocolate Covered Cheerios

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups Cheerio cereal, divided
  • 7 oz chocolate for melting (or almond bark)
  • 7 oz white almond bark
  • 2 tsp vegetable shortening, divided

Instructions

  1. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Melt 7 oz chocolate with 1 tsp of vegetable shortening in microwave or over a double boiler.
  3. In small batches (about a tablespoon) drop Cheerios into melted chocolate.
  4. Remove Cheerios with a fork and tap off excess chocolate. Transfer to one of your prepared baking sheets.
  5. Repeat process with white chocolate.
  6. Let set and store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
