This soft and moist cake recipe is a vanilla version of traditional Chocolate Texas Sheet Cake, with a thicker layer of sweet icing and loaded with chopped walnuts.
You'll only need cubed butter, granulated sugar, and a few other ingredients to make this easy recipe.
In saucepan, melt the butter and water together, then whisk in granulated sugar, baking soda, salt, and flour.
In a small bowl, blend the eggs, sour cream and extract. Then combine with the flour mixture and pour batter into baking pan.
Bake for 20 – 25 minutes, until lightly golden. Then let it cool on a wire rack.
In saucepan, melt butter and milk together. Remove from heat and stir in extract, powdered sugar, and walnuts.
Spread the icing onto the cake (it will be slightly warm).
