Description

This sweet, old fashioned Chocolate Chess Pie is perfect served cold. Easy to make with simple ingredients and even more delicious served with a cup of coffee!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (9- inch) deep dish pie crust, baked, homemade or store-bought
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled slightly
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Bake the pie crust according to recipe or box instructions. Allow to cool.
  2. Preheat the oven to 325°F.
  3. In a large bowl whisk together the eggs, brown sugar, granulated sugar, melted chocolate, milk, flour, and vanilla until smooth. Slowly mix in the butter until smooth.
  4. Pour the mixture into the baked pie crust and bake for 40 minutes, or until the center is set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. To prevent your crust from browning too much use a pie shield or cover the crust in foil.
  5. Allow the pie to cool completely and then cover and refrigerate for 2 – 3 hours, or overnight.
  6. Serve chilled.
