Description

These witch’s broom Halloween cupcakes are a fun and easy treat to make for your Halloween party or spooky celebration. Make them with homemade cupcakes or use your favorite boxed cake mix!

Ingredients

  • Cupcakes
  • Frosting
  • Yellow food coloring
  • Pretzel rods
  • Mini donuts
  • Fruit Roll-Ups, cut into thin strips

Instructions

  1. Bake your cupcakes in a mini cupcake pan following the recipe directions, or the instructions on the box of cake mix.
  2. Prepare a batch of vanilla frosting and add a few drops of yellow food coloring. Mix to combine.
  3. Spread a thin layer of frosting over each cupcake.
  4. Use a sharp knife to hollow out the centers of the mini donuts so the pretzel rods fit into the holes. Place a mini donut on top of each cupcake and press a pretzel through the donut and into the cupcake.
  5. Frost the outside of the donuts with yellow frosting. Then, use a piping bag fitted with a basket weave tip to pipe frosting over the donut.
  6. Wrap a small strip of Fruit Roll-up around the base of the pretzel. Lastly, pipe a small amount of frosting around the top of the Fruit Roll-up.

Notes

  • I use a Wilton #48 basket-weave tip to decorate the brooms.
