Oreo Pudding Cookies

This past weekend my husband participated in a “race”. It involved running up mountains, climbing over walls, jumping off cliffs and crawling through mud…among other things. He came home from the race in pain.  He had rope burns, abrasions, bruises, splinters, gashes and a limp.

And a smile.

I don’t understand.

So he basically hasn’t been able to move since Saturday. Apparently he plans on doing it again next year. AND he asked if I wanted to do it with him.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

I promptly introduced myself to him.  Because apparently he has suffered from some brain contusion that affects his memories.

He then told me I should “think outside the box”. Mmmmkay.

I asked him under what circumstance I would ever crawl through mud, up a hill underneath barbed wire?  Unless there is a Louis Vuitton waiting at the end for me, there is zero chance I would ever participate in such an activity.

I can’t even guarantee that if a crazy clown ax murderer was chasing me that I would do that.  I’m pretty sure I would just lay down and play dead.  That’s my “escape from a murderer tactic”, btw.  Feel free to use it.  I mean, chances are I won’t be able to outrun anyone, so playing dead is really the next available option.

You can pass that little nugget along.

Anyway, let’s talk about cookies.

How to Make Oreo Pudding Cookies

These are pudding cookies.

Actually, they are Oreo Pudding cookies.  If you don’t have Oreo pudding, just use vanilla.  If you don’t have pudding at all, don’t make these cookies.  Sorry.

A box of Jello Oreo cookies 'n creme pudding mixAnd I also used chopped up Cookies and Cream Dove Promises.  If you can’t find Dove Promises, use Hershey’s Cookies and Creme Bars.  If you can’t find the Hershey’s Bars either, you could use Cookies and Creme Drops.  If you don’t have any of those things, don’t make these cookies.  Sorry.

Chopped cookies 'n creme candy on a cutting board

Mix up your simple cookie dough, using the entire pack of dry pudding mix.  Fold in your chopped candies and some extra Oreo Cookies if you’re feeling crazy!

Scoop them out onto a baking sheet, and bake them up!

Oreo Pudding Cookies are a family favorite! They are crispy at the edge, but adding pudding mix directly into the batter keeps them soft and chewy in the center!

Like I said, the edges are slightly crispy and the centers are soft and chewy. This is a cookie that everyone in my family agrees on!

My husband did one of those races and I was just happy he did it when he was out of town so he didn’t come back to our car or our home covered in mud, is that bad?

  2. Ah as soon as I started reading I recognized the Warrior Dash! This was exactly how I got lured into participated this year – hubby did it last year and thought it’s be tons of fun for my son & I to join him this year. I too am bruised, sore, still stiff and still washing mud out of places and wish I would have had these cookies waiting for me. – PS if you do become delusional and do it start running on hills – lots and lots of hills.

  3. Playing dead has always been my plan too. And if things get really bad, I’d just start punching myself in the face. Who is going to attack someone already attacking themselves, right?

That’s my plan. I’ll let you know if I ever need to use and whether or not it works.

Your conversation with your husband sounds EXACTLY like my conversation with mine about going to the gym. Wouldn’t I like to come to the gym every day and do his really hard and extremely time consuming workout with him? HAHAHAHA. Will I be getting extravagantly paid? Then no.
These cookies look absolutely perfect, by the way. Pudding cookies are so amazing.

  5. Averie @ Averie Cooks

Ive made cake mix cookies, and banana bread with pudding mix, but never pudding mix cookies. Must change that b/c they look delish!

  6. Love these cookies! I’ve made them several times and they are always a hit! That silver pedestal thing is gorgeous. Gorgeous!

  7. Sylvie @ Gourmande in the Kitchen

My brother in law did one of those types of races recenlty and he could not stop raving about it, I don’t get it.

  8. Kiersten @ Oh My Veggies

I will eat anything when there’s pudding involved. Is there anything that pudding cannot improve upon? Doubtful. (Also, playing dead is totally my escape from a murderer tactic too. My theory is that if it works on Lifetime movies, it must work in real life.)

  9. Yeah I’m doing one of those races in June! It sounds like it may be fun. Plus I heard there is some mighty fine people watching there!!

I just made a batch of pudding cookies for the first time yesterday and they are amazing! Now this recipie is everything I LOVE!!!! Oreos and the cookies and cream bars! Can’t wait to try it out! Thanks!!
