This past weekend my husband participated in a “race”. It involved running up mountains, climbing over walls, jumping off cliffs and crawling through mud…among other things. He came home from the race in pain. He had rope burns, abrasions, bruises, splinters, gashes and a limp.
And a smile.
I don’t understand.
So he basically hasn’t been able to move since Saturday. Apparently he plans on doing it again next year. AND he asked if I wanted to do it with him.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
I promptly introduced myself to him. Because apparently he has suffered from some brain contusion that affects his memories.
He then told me I should “think outside the box”. Mmmmkay.
I asked him under what circumstance I would ever crawl through mud, up a hill underneath barbed wire? Unless there is a Louis Vuitton waiting at the end for me, there is zero chance I would ever participate in such an activity.
I can’t even guarantee that if a crazy clown ax murderer was chasing me that I would do that. I’m pretty sure I would just lay down and play dead. That’s my “escape from a murderer tactic”, btw. Feel free to use it. I mean, chances are I won’t be able to outrun anyone, so playing dead is really the next available option.
You can pass that little nugget along.
Anyway, let’s talk about cookies.
These are pudding cookies.
Actually, they are Oreo Pudding cookies. If you don’t have Oreo pudding, just use vanilla. If you don’t have pudding at all, don’t make these cookies. Sorry.
And I also used chopped up Cookies and Cream Dove Promises. If you can’t find Dove Promises, use Hershey’s Cookies and Creme Bars. If you can’t find the Hershey’s Bars either, you could use Cookies and Creme Drops. If you don’t have any of those things, don’t make these cookies. Sorry.
Mix up your simple cookie dough, using the entire pack of dry pudding mix. Fold in your chopped candies and some extra Oreo Cookies if you’re feeling crazy!
Scoop them out onto a baking sheet, and bake them up!
Like I said, the edges are slightly crispy and the centers are soft and chewy. This is a cookie that everyone in my family agrees on!

I have these cookies and cream rabbits that have been hidden in my cabinet since April (April? That’s easter time, right) and I have been WAITING for the right recipe to chop those little monsters up. I’m off to the store for some Oreo pudding. Goodbye diet. We’ll try again another day.
Hi Shelly! Just wanted to let you know I went to three grocery stores, a Target, and finally Walmart before finally finding the oreo jello pudding! :O Crazy, right? Made the cookies yesterday and they turned out amazing — everyone loved! The only difference was that mine turned out really flat — maybe a high altitude thing? I’ve made several of your recipes, and they’ve all been great! Love your blog. 🙂
My brother’s doing a similar race based on military training that involves running through electrified wires *shudders* I’ll stick with the cookies, too. My favorite choco chip cookie recipe is pudding-based, too–thanks for sharing this fun twist!
Just wanted to let you know you make me giggle out loud. And that my husband is running a race this weekend. Maybe I will have to make some of these to ease the guilt that I am not participating. Who am I kidding, I was never a runner. Maybe I will just have to make some because they look delicious. I’d have to go to the store though. This sad girl doesn’t have pudding.
Made these cookies last night. My son said they were “amazing”…I’d have to agree. I think I foresee a substantial weight gain in my future after discovering your website.
These cookies look to die for. Have you seen the new ice cream by Breyers? It’s Birthday cake Oreo ice cream, I am about 99.9% sure it is the best variation of cookies and cream ice cream.
Wow
I don’t think that I’ve seen that Oreo Jell-O before
Looks quite unique
I’ll definitely be looking for that
Cool Idea though
LOL. I have a few friends that do things like this. Me, I’ll go to the occasional exercise class, but no way I’d do all that. The cookies look amazing, but no pudding in India, so can’t make these -_-
How on earth are you not a kajillion pounds? And I know you’re not because I have seen pictures… with all this YUMMINESS around I wouldn’t be able to help myself!
