Why You’ll Love Brownie Batter Krispie Treats
Brownie Batter Krispie Treats are my food invention of the week! Cookie dough has had it’s time, so let’s introduce a new flavor profile to the trend!
- No Bake! These are a classic rice krispie treat recipe paired with the inclusion of “brownie batter” which makes for a perfect no bake treat!
- Easy! This whole recipe from start to finish can be completed in less than 15 minutes!
- Unique flavors and textures! When you’re wanting to get a little creative or bring the treat to the party that everyone will be talking about, this is it! Everyone’s favorite sweet treats all mixed into one rice krispie treat recipe.

How To Make these Brownie Batter Krispie Treats
If you have made rice crispy treats before, you will have no problem making these! You just need a few extra ingredients to give them that brownie edge. First and foremost you will need brownie mix.
- I add 1 cup of dry brownie mix right into the melted marshmallows to give that boost of brownie batter flavor!

TIP! You could even use cocoa krispies if you wanted to boost up the chocolate flavor even more, but I have found that if you do that, they taste less like “brownie batter”and more just like chocolate. Not a bad thing, mind you, just a little off target.
2. The of course you should chop up some brownies and throw them into the brownie batter krispies as well. And yes, I almost always cheat this step and use premade brownies. If you are an over achiever, or just happen to have some brownies that didn’t get eaten (what?) you can use homemade. I won’t judge you for that, if you don’t judge me for my use of premade. See? We CAN get along!
3. Mix your chopped brownie pieces right into the rice krispie cereal and stir that all together with the melted marshmallow mixture.
4. Press the gooey goodness into a pan and wait as long as you’re physically able to cut them into squares.

How To Store Rice Krispie Treats
- If you’re making these ahead I suggest not cutting them and leaving them covered airtight in the pan until you’re ready to serve
- When you’re ready to serve place them on a platter, but try your best to keep them covered as much as possible, because this recipe (as is the same with all rice krispie treats) will harden up if left too long uncovered.
- To store after they’ve been cut place them in an airtight container or a zip-top bag fpr up to 2 days. I prefer krispie treats the same day or one day later. After that amount of time they tend to get slightly stale.

I am loving brownie batter week! Love RKTreats of all kinds – even better with brownie mix and brownies in them!
Days like that are when I find myself saying “Well I wouldn’t BE nagging if you’d do it the FIRST time I asked!!!” I’m getting ragey just thinking about it ;P
So the dry brownie mix that I can get is a just-add-water type thing. Do you think it’ll work for your brownie batter loveliness or is the dried egg and vegetable oil gonna make it funny? (or should I test and return to you with results?)
I think it would work totally fine, but yes, try it and report back 🙂
