Chocolate Whoopie Pies with Cake Batter Buttercream

The Whoopie Pie.  It’s not a new invention, but I decided to give it a go with some yummy filling.  Cake Batter filling.  What’s that you say?  Oh yes..I HAVE lost my mind.

How to Make The Best Whoopie Pies

First you have to make your cookies.

It’s a pretty easy recipe.  Mix your butter, sugar..blah blah blah…

Then add your dry ingredients.

Then the milk…

Now you have batter.

Now bake.  Bake I say!

The will come out nice and pretty.

and ready to be filled with amazing cake batter frosting.

Leave a little squish room around the edges..

And I rolled my pies in sprinkles, just because it seemed like the right thing to do.

Love these, especially the cake batter buttercream! And most people can not pull of mustaches, they shouldn’t even be allowed to try.

  2. What is vegatable shortening and funfetti ?? sorry british girl reading your blog, they look fantastic x

    1. Vegetable shortening is Crisco, or I think Trex is available in the UK.
Funfetti is a type of cake mix they sell that is vanilla, but it has sprinkles in it, so when you bake your cake there are colorful bits throughout 🙂

  3. My dad is another old gent who has been sporting a moustache (and sometimes a beard, but always the moustache) for a very long time. He’s had to shave it off for dares and such (He used to coach track and would shave it if kids would break school records or get to the state meet, etc) and he looked weird and wrong and creeperish. If my husband tried to grow one though, I think I would have to do some serious thinking about our relationship. ;P

These look great! Thanks for another easy and delicious winner!
