Milk Chocolate Whopper Brownies

Milk Chocolate Whoppers Brownies are a malted milk brownie made with milk chocolate and topped with a malted chocolate frosting! If you are a fan of the classic candy, you will love these brownies!

Milk Chocolate Whopper Brownie on a napkin

While I always think you should make the stuff you see here, I have to say these are really good brownies.  Really good…and the frosting, oh my word..it’s awesome ~ tastes just like a Whopper thanks to the yummy addition of Ovaltine!

These are pretty easy brownies…straight forward…no funny business.

Chop up some Whoppers (chocolate malt balls)

Then melt your milk chocolate and butter together.  When it’s good and melty add your wet stuff, like eggs, vanilla and brown sugar.

Then add your dry stuff…flour, baking powder, Ovaltine etc,When all that’s mixed together fold in your Whoppers.

And spread it into your prepared pan.

Bake ’em up and then frost them with some yummy Chocolate Malt Frosting…or don’t, but you really should.

You can thank me later!

  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 9×13 baking pan with cooking spray and set aside.
  2. Melt the milk chocolate and butter in a medium saucepan over low heat until the chocolate is just melted, stirring frequently.
  3. Remove from heat. Stir in eggs, vanilla and brown sugar until combined.
  4. Stir in the salt, baking powder, malt powder, and flour until smooth and evenly combined.
  5. Fold in your chopped malt balls
  6. Spread the batter into prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted 1 inch away from edge comes out clean.
  7. Let cool completely.
  8. To make frosting, place butter, powdered sugar, and malt mix in the bowl of your stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Mix on low for 1 minute. Add in the milk and increase the mixing speed to medium, mixing until smooth and creamy, scraping the sides of the bowl as necessary.

Oh man….being without power is NOT fun. Although, your post is cracking me up! 😉 When Ike hit here a few years ago, I was excited to “hunker down.” We had chocolate, we had snacks, it would be fun, right?!? Wrong. The novelty wore off after about a hour. We were all out STILL cleaning up the mess in our yards, days later, and a lady down the street burst out of her house yelling, “MY CEILING FAN IS TURNING!!!” So funny…the power coming back on was like winning the lottery.

The brownies look amazing…and GORGEOUS pictures, Shelly!

  2. We LOOVE whoppers, my late mother in law ALWAYS had them by her side lol……I’ll have to make these for the family in her memory!

Hope you’re up and running again real soon Shelly!

  3. Wow – those pictures… and your situation makes me cringe for you. I hope everything gets restored for you and the others very soon. The only time we’ve ever been without power for an extended period of time is in the winter during ice storms. I can imagine how hot and smelly everything is around those parts!

I would be going bonkers with no power for so long! Those brownies look delicious, especially the icing:-)

  5. I love malted milk balls! I’ve gone a little Maltesers crazy recently and I’m craving these brownies so much now!

Hope your power comes back on soon. Whenever our power goes out I forget and go round turning on light switches and being momentarily confused as to why they don’t work.

  6. They do look spectacular, especially since I love whoppers:) I love your bit about Nellie Oleson and being Ma on the prarie:) Hang in there, Shelly!

  7. I cannot believe you are STILL without power! I am not a good camper as well which is why I was so DAMN AFRAID that my power was going to go out. My roommates just couldn’t understand. But, uh. They camp.

If you want to come over and use my internet, you are more than welcome to! It’s not THAT long of a trip to NYC, right?
