Milk Chocolate Whopper Brownies

Milk Chocolate Whoppers Brownies are a malted milk brownie made with milk chocolate and topped with a malted chocolate frosting! If you are a fan of the classic candy, you will love these brownies!

Milk Chocolate Whopper Brownie on a napkin

While I always think you should make the stuff you see here, I have to say these are really good brownies.  Really good…and the frosting, oh my word..it’s awesome ~ tastes just like a Whopper thanks to the yummy addition of Ovaltine!

These are pretty easy brownies…straight forward…no funny business.

Chop up some Whoppers (chocolate malt balls)

Then melt your milk chocolate and butter together.  When it’s good and melty add your wet stuff, like eggs, vanilla and brown sugar.

Then add your dry stuff…flour, baking powder, Ovaltine etc,When all that’s mixed together fold in your Whoppers.

And spread it into your prepared pan.

Bake ’em up and then frost them with some yummy Chocolate Malt Frosting…or don’t, but you really should.

You can thank me later!

Scale
  • 1 (11.5 oz) bag of milk chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cup all purpose flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped chocolate malt balls (I used Whoppers)

Frosting

  • 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup chocolate malt mix (Ovaltine)
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 9×13 baking pan with cooking spray and set aside.
  2. Melt the milk chocolate and butter in a medium saucepan over low heat until the chocolate is just melted, stirring frequently.
  3. Remove from heat. Stir in eggs, vanilla and brown sugar until combined.
  4. Stir in the salt, baking powder, malt powder, and flour until smooth and evenly combined.
  5. Fold in your chopped malt balls
  6. Spread the batter into prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted 1 inch away from edge comes out clean.
  7. Let cool completely.
  8. To make frosting, place butter, powdered sugar, and malt mix in the bowl of your stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Mix on low for 1 minute. Add in the milk and increase the mixing speed to medium, mixing until smooth and creamy, scraping the sides of the bowl as necessary.
  9. Spread the frosting on the cooled brownies.
  10. Top with extra chocolate malt balls for garnish, if desired.

  1. I literally just had to swallow some drool. Gross. I’m gross.
Nice work on these! I hope you get your power back soon! I know how that sucks. It’s only when we are without it that we realize how much we depend on it.

  2. Little House on the Prairie is pretty much my favorite thing. Ever. HOWever, I do not last more than 5-6 hours in the great outdoors. And that’s under optimal weather conditions. We went on a field trip today. It’s Alaska so it was a hike. In the rain. It was the longest 2 hours ever.

The brownies look delicious and I hope your house/electricity is back to normal soon!

  3. Very glad to hear that you and yours are doing well! Even though it’s pretty sucky to have no power. Hopefully everything gets back to normal soon!

    These look PERFECT.

And I can’t wait til your power is back. I am so lonely on the internets 🙁

  5. Oh Wow! Those brownies look incredible. The frosting really looks awesome and I can’t wait to try. Glad to hear that everyone is okay, but I totally know how you feel about the power being off. The first things I freak out about when the power goes out is my hair dryer and my oven!! Hope it comes on real soon!!!

I am so sorry you are still without power. Your comparison with camping made me laugh. So did talking about your TV looking sad. I hate when we are without power. Good luck on getting it back on and all the clean-up from mean Irene.

These brownies look fab! I need to do more baking with malted items. 🙂

  7. These looks yummy!
Around here we lost power on Saturday night but thank God we had everything back on Sunday morning. I figure everything around my house was fine until I spoke with my friend who leaves 20 minutes from me and told me that some of her neighbors had to be evacuated by the fire department.
Then on Monday, my 20 minutes commute to work turn out to be 3 hours! all roads were pretty much close, after almost peeing in myself ( you know a prego thing this last few weeks) I made it to the office to find out that the ceiling was broken and damage most of our computers and desk.

I am so sorry to hear about your power situation, I will be pulling my hair out! I hope you can get it soon.
