Ingredients:
- 1 box brownie mix
- honey roasted peanuts
- peanut butter cups
- semi-sweet chocolate chips
- butter
- creamy peanut butter
- Rice Krispie cereal
- vanilla
- kosher salt
How To Make Peanut Butter Cup Crack Brownies:
So I started with a box of Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Brownies… they are some of my favorite boxed brownies. While they were baking I chopped up some peanut butter cups and honey roasted peanuts.
When your brownie has 5 minutes left to bake pull it out of the oven and sprinkle your peanut butter cups and peanuts all over the top. The chocolate will melt and then you can use an off-set spatula to spread the chocolate evenly on top.
Set all that aside and then in a microwave safe bowl combine chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter in a bowl and melt it in the microwave until smooth. Then stir in some vanilla, salt and krispie cereal. Pour that on top of the brownies and spread evenly.
Now chill the brownies for 2 hours, until the top layer is set.

i made these for a bbq. I set them out and within a few minutes they were gone. Everyone raved about them and if there was an award for best dessert these would likely have won. Super easy, will definitely make again!
I made these today all I can say is WOW
🙂 I just was searching for this to show my mom, and simply put “crack” in the search since I couldn’t remember the exact name! It worked!!
That.Is.Hilariousssss.
I am a little confused about using that much salt. Also I can’t find where it is to go. Do you add it to the chocolate chip part ? Maybe using 1 teaspoon of salt is a typo ?
You can add 1/2 tsp if you think that you might not like the salt…it’s all personal preference. I like the salty in my sweets, so I tend to add more. Start with less and add more if you feel necessary. Also, I added it when I added the vanilla and cereal. I adjusted the recipe to read more clearly on that! Thanks!!
I just want to say, these look amazing and anything called crack brownies is a must try. Your photos are awesome – love
These look amazing, but could you maybe have come up with a less insensitive name for them? If you don’t understand why calling these “crack brownies” might be hurtful, then maybe this article might help clarify: http://www.slate.com/articles/life/food/2013/08/food_like_crack_why_the_cocaine_metaphor_is_classist_and_insulting.html
Oooh. So mesmerizing! I like what you did here.
Pointless comment is pointless. I just wanted to say I liked them. I’m not feeling very creative. 😉
