Avalanche Bars Are Easy No Bake Bars!
Avalanche Bars are one of my favorite and most popular treats here on my website. I made them back in 2010, not too long after I started this website, and they quickly became one of the most loved recipes on Cookies and Cups! I even made an Avalanche Cookie a few years back that was equally as loved. I have updated the pictures so they are a little more pretty, but equally as delicious!
White Chocolate and Peanut Butter Are a Delicious Combination!
Avalanche Bars are this deliciously addictive treat was introduced to me at a place called The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Ever been there? They have shelves and shelves of delicious looking candy apples and homemade fudge that I would always be THIS close to buying…but being a bit of a cheapskate I always went for one of the least expensive thing there…the Avalanche Bar.
At like, $3.50 it was still overpriced, but oh so worth it. A strange but wonderful combination of white chocolate, peanut butter and marshmallow it is like rice krispie treat on steroids!

Clearly I knew I needed to learn to make these at home… and it turns out they are easy peasy!
AND I made a quick little video to show you JUST how easy…
I make these ALL the time, and I am sure you will too! They are an easy, classic treat!

I worked at Rocky Mountain for 2 years in Pennsylvania and when I saw Avalanche bark it was the FIRST thing I thought of….working at Rocky Mountain!
Ummm … there’s a problem with the statement about the bars being over priced at $3.50, but oh so worth it ! See how that doesn’t compute ? I can’t leave ordinary Rice Krispie treats alone, much less these babies.
These look yummy. Be aware, however, that “puffed rice” is not the same as “rice krispies”. Puffed rice is chewier, not crunchy and the kernals are bigger, as in Quaker brand puffed rice.
Great… I had managed to forget all about these! Now I have to go make some. My tummy thanks you. My new jeans do not.
I loved these bars, never had them before and now I’m addicted. I must have not pressed them down enough in the pan as they sorta crumbled a bit. The chocolates chips on top also fell off. Next time I will drizzle melted chocolate over them instead. So delish.
The Avalanche Bars are the most addictive bar I’ve eaten in a long time. They are fantastic.
You don’t know how much this recipe just made my day! I am new to the whole blogging thing, courtesy of Pinterest. Just hours ago, I drove past my local Rocky Mtn. Chocolate Factory and argued with myself about stopping for, you guessed it, an Avalanche Bar! I adore these! I kept thinking, “if only someone on Pinterest would post a copycat recipe for those…” Voila! I logged in to Pinterest and someone posted it, leading me to your blog.
Thank you!
your pictures made me want to write down this recipe..I will def be trying it. Thanks for sharing!
I made these this afternoon and they have already been devored by my husband and 17 & 2 year old daughters! What a hit! Making more for oldest daughters arrival on Tuesday, after months of Army chow I am sure her sweet tooth will be happy! Thanks for sharing!
awesome!!
These look amazing and I’d like to make them for a cookie exchange. Do you use actual white chocolate (with cocoa butter in it) or just the white chips that are more common (and cheaper!)?
