Caramel Swirled Pretzel M&M Blondies

Caramel Swirled Pretzel M&M Blondies Stacked
While I was on vacation I had some time to think.
Like about life and all that.
Some questions went unanswered.
For example…
Why do we always eat beef jerky on road trips but never any other time?
Why is it always super important for the hotel where I stay to have a gym, but I never use them.
Why did Meg Ryan do all that weird stuff to her face?
how about…
Am I the only person in the history of the world that thinks fireworks are overrated?
and of course…
Could there be anything better than Cracker Barrel Hash Brown casserole?
I am pretty sure that Confucius and I would be homies.  You know, pondering all life’s enigmas.
Anyway…another of my big concerns in life is why haven’t I baked with Pretzel M&Ms yet?
That’s completely nonsensical.
So…situation resolved.  I can check that one off my list.

Here’s what you’ll need…

Make some cookie dough…
Cookie Dough Batter

Unwrapping is the hardest part.
Unwrapped Caramels
Microwave that caramel

That’s good stuff.

  1. Ok, I’m going through all my bookmarked recipes (from here of course) to plan for Teacher Appreciation Week, and I have a question. This recipe calls for mixing the caramels with some milk, and the Chubby Hubby bars call for mixing the caramels with just a tiny bit of water. I wonder if you can explain the difference and when you would choose which and why? Is that too much question?? I saw some of the comments on the CH that if you don’t use enough water, the caramel will be chewy. Just curious why the two techniques. Looking forward to making some of these! Thanks!

    1. There really isn’t too much of a difference, the milk just gives the caramel a little creamier of a taste, but honestly they are pretty interchangeable. Hope you like them!

  2. I forgot to post my findings. These bars are TO DIE FOR!!! I made them for my Dad for a belated Father’s Day gift (in July) and he loved them and refused to share, even with his girlfriend! They are truly a keeper!

  3. FINALLY made these last night (they’ve been on my MUST HAVE list since you posted the recipe) and would have commented sooner but I’ve been standing by the pan eating and snacking away. Who needs dinner or breakfast or lunch for that matter when you’ve got a pan of these?!?!

Super delicious and I look forward to all your recipes and stories! (In fact I HAD to wake my husband up one night and relate your experience on vacation with the water aerobics instructor…I still laugh just thinking about that story as I write).

I’m going to go heat up a little bit more of the cookie bar and have some vanilla ice cream and why not drizzle that with more caramel and chocolate! Mama needs her sweets!

  4. I just want to eat the batter… that picture of the batter spooned out has my mouth watering for sure.

  5. it peeves me to think of unwrapping all those caramels, but this is one time when it'd definitely be worth the hassle! 🙂

  6. Are these legal? You are an absolute brilliant baker — caramel, chocolate, pretzels, M&Ms in a blondie – sheer genius!
