Snickers Salad
Salad.
It’s not my favorite food group.
I eat it because you’re supposed to.
BUT I also have to say when I eat salad, I generally load it up with things like cheese, and bacon and ranch dressing, which I’m guessing might cancel out all the salady aspects.
I’m doing my best people.
Also, the only lettuce I like is iceberg.Β If I’m going out on a limb I might choose some romaine.
Those fancy “leafy greens” aren’t making it to my plate.
I made the executive decision to banish leafy greens from my life.
And please, I don’t judge you for eating them, so hold your judgement at my choice to put them in a permanent time out.
I gave them a shot.
They failed.
End of story.
BUT there might just be a new salad in my life.
Scratch that.Β There IS a new salad in my life.
Iceberg has been replaced.
By Snickers.
Snickers Salad.
I first saw this insanity a few years ago on my friend Bridget’s site.
Bridget, being the ladylike girl she is, used tons of apples in her salad.
I’m not quite as dainty.
I’m a more stick to your ribs, kinda girl.
So I changed it up a little…because fruit, like leafy greens, really has no place in salad.
In my version you’ll need cream cheese, powdered sugar, Whipped Topping, Snickers, marshmallows and fine, a few apples.
Mix your cream cheese and powdered sugar until it’s smooth and creamy.
Fold in your Whipped Topping.
Chop up some Snickers…
And the two apples, skin and all…
Then fold all that and your marshmallows into your cream cheese mixture.
That’s totally it.
Salad finally became cool.

This looks AMAZING!
Bringing salad to a whole new level!!
This really sounds like something Buddy the elf would eat.
Hi, I saw your comment, how funny…Elf is one of our favorite Christmas time movies….
This really sounds like something Buddy the elf would eat. Just missing syrup.
I grew up on this stuff at summer bbq’s and potlucks. My mom and grandma made some mean Snickers salad back in the day. Yours brings back great memories!
Sounds easy and delicious. Just may have to make this next weekend!
Can I just say — that top photo is the most gorgeous thing I’ve ever seen! I got so distracted by it I almost forgot to read the rest of the post.
Isn’t the combination of snickers and apples amazing in a salad? I’ve been making a slightly different version of this I found several years ago and it’s really addicting! This sounds fabulous!
OH MY HEAVENS!
I’m not gonna lie, I totally freaked out ahen I saw green in your Snickers Salad. Green and snickers…no. But apples I can do. This sounds amazing! Thanks for sharing!!
Oh, I have to share this one with my facebook page peeps! My father was a HUGE snickers fan. We celebrate his birthday every year by eating one…or two or three. Now I can say I’m celebrating in a healthy way. π
This is definitely one of our favorite ways to eat salad. Drizzle some caramel ice cream topping on there, too. π
Our family loves Snicker Salad, it’s all every family gathering. We do ours a bit differently and use instant pudding instead of the powdered sugar and cream cheese.
Shelly, i LOVE snickers salad! I made it for my friends bridal shower once and it was a HIT! everyone loved it. I threw some pecans in mine too.
YES! A salad I can get down with.
Wow! I used to think Pistachio Salad that we have at family dinners was a dessert salad, but this is a DESSERT salad and it sounds amazing!
I adore this salad. It is in one of my mother-in-laws old church cookbooks and I have had it jotted down for so long but have never made it at home. It’s such a treat though. This is definitely a salad I am on board for!
Yum! I’ve made this before, but it didn’t have marshmallows.
This is most definitely my kind of salad…move on over spinach! No room here for you!!! I love this salad more than I should every time I make it:-)
Oh my goodness! This is my new favorite salad π …I may have to eat salad every day now!
I had to laugh at you and your fruit-in-baked-goods aversion. At least we can agree on our mutual love of snickers!
My favorite salad is loaded with fried chicken. So, yeah… probably not super healthy either π
This salad looks great!! I made a similar salad with Samoas Cookies instead of snickers and it worked! –just imagine the possibilities! All the stuff you could coat in cream cheese and cool whip and then call SALAD!!! It’s just a brilliant recipe.
PS- have you seen the GIANT snickers bars? Like, the size of your arm kind of giant?? They’re called “Slice and Share” and I keep seeing them at CVS. I’m sure you could do something amazing with that thing…
It’s like taffy apple salad only better.
I can’t wait to give it try. This looks perfect for summer BBQ season!
A tip for this salad, is to freeze the mini snickers bars first, then put them in a zip lock bag and then break them apart with a hammer or meat tenderizer. It’s much easier than trying to cut them up and them getting all “melty”. Also throw a little lemon juice and water in a bowl, toss the apple slices in there, and then they wont go brown.
I’m looking for a cute apple cookie or blue bird cookie to make for an up coming party and came across your site. To my surprise I read salad.. WHAT?..then I saw snickers in a salad. I just had to read what this was about..glad I did. π Thanks for a salad recipe I’m sure the kids will like..even the big ones!
I mean, a girl needs a salad every now and then…it’s a detox thing.
{{Thanks for the link love!}}
that totally has to be on my plate and SOON.
Like YUUMM!
Almost like a loaded caramel apple in a bowl!!!
My favorite kind of salad in the whole wide world!!!!
Sounds healthy to me!!
Haha…this is awesome! I’ll eat my salad today if it is this! π
This is awesome, I’ve never seen anything like it! Who WOULDN’T love this salad?!
I saw this on Pinterest and have been thinking about it ever since. This must happen soon!
Trouble maker! Just when I was getting used to a nice green salad, along comes snicker salad. Green salad will always look second-rate compared to this. π
I grew up with this salad being at every potluck and event I attended. I haven’t had it in years!!
Whoa now, this salad I can get behind! It looks delicious, yet far too healthy with that apple in there, hah! π Thanks for sharing. Also, I’m having a ChicWrap giveaway today that you should enter!
Wow a snickers salad! Who knew life could be even more awesome?! This is such a fun recipe and a twist on the fruit salad I always remember being brought to Thanksgiving.
I Love, Love, Love your site…and your humor…and all the wonderful recipe’s. My hubs, like you, wiill definitely eat this salad, if for nothing else but the snickers! Thank you for sharing!
I made this salad for a party a couple of years ago and everyone loved it! (I didn’t tell them what was in it, I just let it be a surprise!)

You crack me up.
I am a leafy green kind of salad girl, but even I have to admit that this looks crazy good! Thanks for sharing!
My mom and grandma still love making this for barbecues and its always a hit! LOVE! π
Hahaha oh my gosh, I love my veggies, but THIS salad does sound pretty freaking incredible!!!
Seriously? You’re killing me!!! Mega yum!!!
It’s got apples and it’s a salad, so it’s A-OK to eat before the main dish, right? π
now that kind of salad I could eat!
i had my doubts the first time i ate this, but it is MARVELOUS!
Durn.
I think we might be soul mates. This is something I would totally come up with!
Even though many people think salads are boring, there are plenty of ways to make a tasty salad that is still healthy. Keeping your salad healthy is the number one key. Adding too many calories in the form of salad dressing and cheese can make actually make your salad more unhealthy than eating a slice of cake. You want to find a good balance of healthy food ingredients that spice up the flavor of your salad without adding too many calories..
I made this yesterday for a lunch with some girlfriends! SO. GOOD. REALLY!!!!!! π
I grew up on this except with vanilla pudding mix and no cream cheese. Love it!!!
You had me at the get go “SNICKERS” , “SALAD” , OH OK, opposites attract! I get it but I didn’t! π WOW what a salad that is. Just right for my sugar tooth to sneak in a salad. lol…
Are you kidding me right now? Love!
I have made this dish quite a few times but I guess that wasn’t that tasty at all… I will try and follow your procedure….
So delicious! Made this today for our cookout! I made whipped cream instead of using the whipped topping. The cool whip really tastes gross.
I’m fairly new to your page and I’m in love! Your recipes look so delicious and when I saw this one, I couldn’t believe the combination. I just have to try it. Just printed the recipe and purchased the ingredients. Your photos with each recipe are amazing. Any chance you could share where you got the plate and tea towel (green) in these shots? Thanks for sharing your time and recipes with us!!

I believe I got both the towel and the plate at Pier One!
It’s delicious made it …it’s easy to make and was a hit.
I made this delicious salad for a Memorial Day cookout and it was devoured. This is so good that I was actually happy it was all gone or I would have eaten every drop that was left. The apples really add to it. Definitely cannot skip chilling it before serving- makes it out of this world.
Oh, you must be the most popular person at barbecues when you bring this salad π Yum!
Now THIS is my kind of salad! I make homemade snickers bars that would be AH-MAZING in this…. Thanks for the fat happy idea!
Now THIS is my kind of salad! I make homemade snickers bars that would be AH-MAZING in thisβ¦. Thanks for the fat happy idea!
So today is a marching band camp day. I took the girls a couple jumbo boxes of Drumsticks to share with their friends for dessert at lunch. Bonus Mom Points. Ate one myself for lunch on the way to the grocery store. Made a nice dinner for my hard working family and made this special salad to go with Mel’s Kitchen Cafe White Chicken and Spinach Lasagna. It will look lovely on the side. I chose a smaller Tupperware to store it in than I had made, because after I ate the Drumstick only for lunch, I thought I probably should eat a salad too. It was OK. π I can probably stand to eat some more for dinner.
Making this for a play date tomorrow morning… can I make it tonight to bring (play date is at 10 am) or do I need to make it in the morning so the chocolate doesn’t run and the apples turn brown?
I find it best if made and served same day, but one overnight is probably fine!
