Things I Am Loving Now…

Hey people! Thought I’d drop in here this fall week and share some stuffs. The things I am loving now…right this very second,

A collection of favorite candles

The fall is upon us which means I did this…

Seriously Bath and Body Works fall candles are my kryptonite. Annnd they basically all smell like food. What is WRONG with me?

And I’m equally obsessed with this Salted Caramel Hazelnut Spread from Jif. Which now I’m thinking needs it’s own candle. Ugh.

I’m piling it high on my ice cream.. and also de-healthifying rice cakes.

At least it’s pretty much sweats weather 🙂

As far as clothing goes I am IN LOVE with this cardigan

It’s basically a blanket that you can wear. I am not kidding you guys. If there is one piece of cozy that you want to own this winter, this sweater is it. Mine is in midnight ombré, and it’s a lighter gray that goes to black. LOVE! It is super super soft and flowy. I wear it all the time.

Also, if we’re talking about being in love, I got the iPhone 6. Yep, I am annoying.

Also this. LOVE it. Ladies, read and reread.

And can we talk about this for a minute…I bookmarked that link back in the summer and have read and reread it. Seriously #8 y’all. NUMBER EIGHT!

Want this to be my fall uniform. Love.

Also, I am sorry universe for laughing at this, but I cantstopwontstop. OMG dying. Dude, we’ve all been there.

As for the book stuff…I am smack dab in the middle of nailing down all my recipes for the book…which means I’ve had some great successes…but also epic fails. Which have lead to this…

Yes. That is an entire cake in the trash. (Minus 2 pieces that had to be taste-tested).

I do have to say that I have had some mishaps with recipes…and throwing out a batch of cookies or brownies is one thing, but never have I experienced grief until the day that entire CAKES get tossed.

But for the most part it’s coming along.

Oh before I forget I wanted to ask you.. Pie Crust.. are you guys all butter? or part butter part shortening? I have been playing around with loads of recipes for the book and can’t decide which I like better. I like the IDEA of all butter better, but I think I like the taste of butter/shortening. Ugh. THOUGHTS?

Also loving THIS new line from Bumble for my hair…especially the primer.

It smells great, it doesn’t weigh my hair down AT ALL…and it conditions and protects before styling. I just love it.

And this lip gloss from MAC. The color is Got Style and you guys, it is THE perfect pink. I LOVE the look of a bold pink lip, but have found that on me it looks weird. Ugh. BUT this gloss, is SUCH a flattering pink that has good color but not enough that you look crazy.

I tried to take a selfie to show you, but the lighting was bad…

I promise you it’s gorg. Also, it’s not sticky like the usual MAC Lipglass..but it actually has staying power. Anyhow, I love it.

Also, these sunglasses…I am obsessed. I am THIS close to going back and getting them… will I regret?

So yeah, nothing too major is happening right now, but life is good.

Talk soon friends!

  1. Shortening pie crust. I have always used my Nana’s pie crust recipe. Mix up all the dry ingredients with the shortening and keep it in an old jar in my cabinet. Shelf stable so no issue with leaving it in the cabinet. When I need a pie crust, I just have to pour out enough dry mix and add cold water, mix and done. So easy and flaky. My kids can totally tell when I cheat and get one of those roll up ones from the store.

  2. When it comes to pie crust, I’m all about lard which is what my grandmothers used. Need a bit of vinegar in the liquid. And I’m talking “real” lard NOT the variety you find in the grocery store. Need to go to a genuine meat market to find it. It makes the flakiest crust!

  3. I saw this & thought, Oh good, she’s taking a break from the cookbook for a few minutes anyway. Have to have breaks from work (or “work”) or you burnout. Butter & more butter. And it sounds like you’ve already decided to get the sunglasses! Cute cardigan.

  4. All butter pie crusts! I feel less guilty eating them. Shortening just makes me uneasy because of it’s never-ending shelf life and zero necessary refrigeration.

I’ve never tried the Jiff hazelnut spread (having a hard time switching from Nutella). Might have to try the salted caramel version, though!

  5. All butter pie crust definitely. It gives you the flakiness you want on a pie crust and I think it tastes a lot better. Plus many people have problems with the unhealthiness of shortening due to the trans fat, so I always go with all-butter.

That cake in the trash hurts my heart, but I’ve so been there. It’s ok. Just take out the trash and move on. You can do it 🙂

PS I vote no on the sunglasses. I like them, but I think they should be twice the size. I know, I’m obnoxious like that.

    I want allll the candles.

  7. love these posts of randomness! happy friday for sure!

Fall is the BEST time for candles! If it smells like cinnamon, I’m buying it.

Also, Old Navy has been killing it with fall clothes lately. I basically just spent my last pay check there stockin’ up.

    1. omg, someone else just told me about Old Navy and that I need to get my butt in there! I always forget about that place!

  9. Those B&BW Candles kill me! I swear I pick up a couple every week. I’ve got issues, lol! So happy I get to see you in a few weeks! Feels like it’s been forever! ….those sunglasses are soooo cute!
