Twix Blondies

Twix Blondies are what sweet caramel dreams are made of! Take a buttery, brown sugar blondie, and load it up with tons of chopped Twix Bars, sea salt and chocolate chips. These homemade blondies are extra chewy with crunchy bits of shortbread baked inside!

Chocolate Chip Twix Blondie Bars With Sea Salt

This is an older recipe of mine that I posted back in 2010. I have been on a kick going through my old posts and updating the pictures. Turns out that way back in 2010 I was a little confused on what a “good picture” was.

Anyhow, I knew these candy bar blondies deserved another day in the sun.

Because they’re good. And you’ll like them.

Plus, I’m all in whenever Twix are involved. Except, can we just chat a quick minute? This is a PSA to the makers of the TWIX bar. Twix are classic and fantastic and everyone loves them. BUT, Twix makers, how about a little sprinkle of sea salt on top. I mean SALTED CARAMEL TWIX? Why isn’t that a thing in the world?

So for the sake of humanity I went ahead and sprinkled a little extra sea salt on top of these. It’s the right move.

Twix Blondies are sweet and chewy with bits of crunchy shortbread throughout. You can even top them with flaked sea salt for a perfect sweet & salty bite!

An Easy Blondie Bar Dessert Recipe

They are super easy, actually…and pretty knock-out. The blondie itself could actually be the base recipe for ANY add-in candy bars…I mean Snickers, Milky Way, it’s really up to you!

Of course I am a huge Twix girl, and the crunchy shortbread pieces the Twix leave in the blondies is one of my favorite parts!

Chopped Twix Bars for Twix Blondies

Try not to eat too many Twix beforehand though. Turns out one CAN have too much of a good thing…just speaking from personal experience.

They bake up perfectly, but make sure that you let them cool completely before cutting into bars! And like I said a little flaked sea salt on top is a good idea.

I’m really glad I revisited this recipe!

Hope you enjoy!

Description

Twix Blondies are what sweet caramel dreams are made of! Take a buttery, brown sugar blondie, and load it up with tons of chopped Twix Bars, sea salt and chocolate chips. These homemade blondies are extra chewy with crunchy bits of shortbread baked inside!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 cups light brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon flaked (or coarse) sea salt
  • 2 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 30 mini Twix bars coarsely chopped
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Optional – more flaked sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Line a 9×13 baking pan with foil and coat with nonstick spray. Set aside.
  2. In the bowl of your stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment combine the butter and brown sugar on low speed. Add in the eggs, vanilla, baking powder and salt and mix until smooth.
  3. With the mixer still on low add the the flour and mix until just combined.
  4. Stir in the Twix and chocolate chips until evenly incorporated.
  5. Spread batter into prepared pan and bake 25-30 minutes until the edges are set and the center is almost set.
  6. Cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

You could also make this recipe without the stand mixer. A bowl and a wooden spoon will work just fine!

*Be sure to cool the bars completely before cutting. I often chill mine to make the bars pretty.

  1. Those are freakin amazing! You amaze me with your wickedly decadent desserts! Love your Target stories!! I am really annoyed when people do that to me in line also. Last time that happened to me, I got so flustered I dropped twenty dollars and did not notice it. Luckily, the salesgirl noticed and called me back.

Great way to make use of all of the discount chocolate!

I too went discount shopping for lindt bunnies and also encountered B). I mean how hard is it to wait?

Oh well, maybe some people just need lessons in queue etiquette 🙂

They look so good, and I like everything salted!
shopping pet peeve? when they ask if I want paper or plastic and when I say paper they seem annoyed.

  4. Mmm yes. Champion sweet tooth? Right here. Too bad I have no leftover Easter candy. These look amazing.

My shopping pet peeve? People who dig around for exact change for five minutes only to realize, no they don't actually have that dime that they thought they did.

  5. Ooohh…these look sooo good!! I have a recipe for Butterfinger Blondies that I was wanting to try this week…I hope they turn out as good as yours! My shopping pet peeve is when the cashier comments on my purchases…I mean, seriously…if I have to hear "Oh boy, someones making a bunch of cakes!!" from the Walmart lady one more time…

I share your personal space pet peeve. Why do people think that getting all up in my area is going to somehow make me move faster? It's more likely to tick me off enough to make me slower 😛

Thanks for the recipe it looks amazing!

Haven't had a Twix bar in years…..but I sure do like them. Nice work. I also dislike the folks who don't understand personal space 'cause I need lots of it.

  8. totally gonna have to try the twix blondies…my favorite candy bar paired with one of my favorite bar cookies = perfection!

  9. Yummy looking brownies! I don't care if people get mad… I stand there and put my card back in my wallet. Once I just held it in my hand to do a quick getaway and got to my car and thought I dropped it! Luckily it fell into a sack, but boy did I have a panic moment!!! Now I just smile at the person trying to root me out of the way and laugh and say I'm almost done. No one has beat me up yet so I guess that works 🙂
