Avalanche Bars Are Easy No Bake Bars!

Avalanche Bars are one of my favorite and most popular treats here on my website. I made them back in 2010, not too long after I started this website, and they quickly became one of the most loved recipes on Cookies and Cups! I even made an Avalanche Cookie a few years back that was equally as loved. I have updated the pictures so they are a little more pretty, but equally as delicious!

White Chocolate and Peanut Butter Are a Delicious Combination!

Avalanche Bars are this deliciously addictive treat was introduced to me at a place called The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.  Ever been there?  They have shelves and shelves of delicious looking candy apples and homemade fudge that I would always be THIS close to buying…but being a bit of a cheapskate I always went for one of the least expensive thing there…the Avalanche Bar.

At like, $3.50 it was still overpriced, but oh so worth it.  A strange but wonderful combination of white chocolate, peanut butter and marshmallow it is like rice krispie treat on steroids!

Avalanche Bars! Super easy, no bake treats that are the perfect combination of peanut butter, white chocolate, and marshmallows!

Clearly I knew I needed to learn to make these at home… and it turns out they are easy peasy!

AND I made a quick little video to show you JUST how easy…

I make these ALL the time, and I am sure you will too! They are an easy, classic treat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz bag of White Chocolate Chips
  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter

  • 1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips + 2 Tbsp for garnish.

  1. I stumbled across this recipe through Pinterest and decided to make them as a treat for a Board game date at my house with friends. They were sooooo easy to make and they are beyond delicious. I don’t think I could ever go back to regular rice krispies treats again. Perfect snack to make at home or take over to a friends house. I loved the white chocolate in this recipe, (I used squares instead of chips,) it balanced out the peanut butter and other flavors nicely! Thank you for sharing.

  2. I just finished making these, SO Good…. Yum thank for a great desert…happy 4th to u and your family..

  3. I second MoonAngel they are too sweet( feedback from the bake sale) If I make them again I’ll omit the white chocolate and make them with the traditonal way with peanut butter and chocolate chips.

I made these last night and they are soooo good! Thank you so much for this amazing recipe! I love how quick and easy it is!

  5. Hi!
I just made these last night. The outcome tasted great, however, it was nothing like a bar. It was crumbly and had some chunks (similar to puppy chow). I served it to a bunch of hungry guys so needless to say they didn’t care what form it came in. Anyways as I was making these I wondered if I should melt marshmallow and mix the Rice Krispies in as if I were making regular rice Krispy treats? I didn’t see that in the directions but am wondering if it would help.

    Thank you!
    Jillian

    1. You certainly could try that! I can’t imagine it would taste anything but great 🙂 I haven’t ever had the problem that you had with the crumbling, but I’d love to know how they come out doing it that way!

  6. go to rockymtnchoc.com and get on their email list and get notices when the 8 dollar apples go for 3 for 15 and other specials. anyone in jersey can go to atlantic city for apples.

  7. Made these tonight , they are cooling, and they look amazing….the dregs from the bowl were ahhhhhh. Can’t wait.

  8. These completely fell apart when I cut them. Followed the recipe. Still taste good. I think next time I will stir the marshmallows in while still warm.

Saw this on Pinterest and it looks fabulous!! I see that it’s a few years old, so not sure if you are still in NJ, but I get it. I’m in San Diego, and I know that I can’t complain. But yep, I’m done with winter. It was 70 today, but only for a short time. short enough, but I put on my beloved flip flops which I haven’t worn for a few months. My poor, poor pale feet!! I’m definitely in need of stronger sun. Perhaps we should meet up in Hawaii for a plate of these gorgeous bars??? Aloha!!
