White Trash Bars Are An Easy No Bake Dessert!

Don’t get offended. It’s just a name. I didn’t even come up with it…this recipe is one of those 1980’s recipes that all sorts of weird names. Simply enough these bars are crushed Ritz crackers with toffee bits, and sweetened condensed milk. You can cover them in frosting if you want to go that extra mile, but they’re just as good without the frosting too!

Once you have the Ritz crushed mix them with a bag of toffee bits and pour into a greased baking pan…
Then pour a can of sweetened condensed milk on top…
You can do this right in the pan, or in a separate bowl.
Stir it all together and press evenly into the pan.
Bake it for 15-20 minutes.
Let it cool completely and then trash it up a little more with frosting.
You can eat it right away or even let it sit overnight. It’s great the next day!

How To Store These:

These are perfect kept at room temperature stored in an airtight container. You can also freeze them airtight for up to 30 days for best freshness!

  1. Wanted to like these but, they were just too sweet. I cut them super small and was able to enjoy them with coffee. Won’t make them again, I may exchange the toffee chips for chocolate chips. They were super easy to make and I could use another quick and easy bar cookie for church events. Thanks for sharing your recipe.

  2. Hi Shelly,
These look awesome! I would love to put some in the teacher’s lounge…have you ever doubled the recipe and used a 9×13 pan?

  3. I’ve had this recipe for years and can you imagine? The name of the top of the recipe card is Ritz Squares!! Fancy that! ????

  4. There is a pin floating around on pinteresr that has high jacked your photo of you pouring the condense milk, cause when you click it it takes you to some weird website & no recipe. I reported it, but thought I’d let you know.

    1. They are hard to find sometimes! They can’t really be replaced, but you could use Heath Bits! They are coated in chocolate but that wouldn’t be bad!

  5. I have two questions, the first one being do you have to use toffee chips because I can’t find them anywhere! And would cream cheese frosting work for the top?
    Thanks x

    1. You do need to use Toffee chips, but you could use Heath Chips instead.. they are coated in chocolate, but that would be good too! If you can’t find those, you could easily crush up some whole Heath bars!

  6. What a great find these were for the holidays! I made several batches with my grand kids and we played with the recipe a bit adding chopped cashews, coconut or chocolate chips. I like the original myself! Everyone wanted your recipe and could not believe how simple it is! I ate so many of these over the holidays, I could feel the sugar sludging up my veins. Thank you for sharing your “sweet life” with us!
