This Cut-Out Sugar Cookie Recipe has been my favorite for 10 years. It’s the best for using with cutters and is delicious and buttery!
I use it for holiday cookies and everything in between!
Excited to try
What a Fabulous Recipe! A Perfect Sugar Cookie! Thank you!
If I wanted to make them chocolate sugar cookies would I need to add anything additional besides cocoa powder?
While this is a wonderful tasting cookie, it’s more like a shortbread than a sugar cookie. This batter is too delicate to decorate with icings like the sugar cookies I am used to
Wow – I love this recipe. I was able to cut these cookies without adding a bunch of extra flour and ruining the taste. In fact, I added one less cup of flour than the recipe required. And the cookies didn’t spread and loose their shape during baking. Perfect. They taste great – buttery. Can’t wait to frost them I will make this again
Love hearing this!! Wow, a whole less cup of flour and they didn’t spread?! That’s crazy, but I’m so glad they turned out for you!
can I omit baking powder
Nope, sorry! Baking powder is essential for the rise and texture of these cookies!
Can I freeze them and then decorate closer to when I need them?
Great, thank you!
