Fruity Pebbles Krispie Treats Are the Best No-Bake Dessert

This recipe for Fruity Pebbles Krispie treats is one of my most-requested no-bake recipes in my real life. If I’m bringing dessert to the party, you can almost guarantee that it’ll be some form of Rice Krispie treats. I’ve made scotcheroos and Cinnamon Toast Crunch treats, and everyone loves this version with Fruity Pebbles cereal, not only the kids! If you’ve made my Fruity Pebbles cookies, I think these Fruity Pebble Rice Krispie treats will win you over next.

Here are the easy ingredients you’ll need to make Fruity Pebbles Krispie treats. Scroll to the recipe card for the printable recipe with the exact amounts.

  • Butter – I always bake with salted butter, but feel free to use unsalted butter and adjust the amount of added salt if needed.
  • Mini Marshmallows – You could also use regular marshmallows. I like to reserve some of the minis to stir into the treat mixture whole, for gooey little pockets throughout. If you’re using large marshmallows, chop them up into quarters instead.
  • Rice Krispies Cereal – This can be the original or any store-brand version.
  • Fruity Pebbles Cereal – Same goes for the Fruity Pebbles!
  • Salt – As with most baked goods, a little salt goes a long way to balance the sweetness of the marshmallows. Maldon salt or kosher salt is best. Don’t skip it.

How to Make Fruity Pebble Rice Krispie Treats

It’s all about the Pebble to Krispie ratio. I go with ⅔ Krispies and ⅓ Pebbles, and there’s still plenty of color and lots of crunch in every square. Here are the steps.

  • Prepare your pan. Line a 9×9 pan with parchment paper, coat it lightly with cooking spray, then set the pan aside.
  • Melt the marshmallows. In a large pot over low heat, melt butter. Next, stir in about 8 cups of mini marshmallows.
  • Add cereal. Once the marshmallows are just melted, take the pot off the heat. Stir both cereals into the marshmallows until they’re just coated.
  • Finish and cool. Now, stir in the remaining 2 cups of mini marshmallows. Press the mixture evenly into the prepared pan. Wait until these Fruity Pebbles treats cool to cut them into squares. It doesn’t take long. They’re best if served same day!

Tips for Perfect Krispie Treats

  • Don’t overdo it. The magic happens in the balance between the Fruity Pebbles and Rice Krispies. Too many Fruity Pebbles will make the treats overly sweet. I stick with a 1:3 ratio of Fruity Pebbles to Rice Krispies.
  • The right amount of marshmallows. I’ve perfected the amount of mini marshmallows that makes these treats crispy-gooey without being too mushy or too crunchy. If you’re using different-sized marshmallows please refer to this chart for a helpful conversion.
  • Grease and line the pan. This makes it easy to lift the treats from the pan when it’s time to cut them.
  • Scale the recipe. You can increase this recipe by ½ and make these Fruity Pebbles treats in a 9×13 pan if you would like to feed a larger crowd.

  1. HI! Do you think you could sub cinnamon toast crunch 1:1 for the rice cereal? Also, this recipe is amazing. I get asked to make it all the time.

This is a fantastic recipe and by far my favorite one to use. The marshmallow to butter ratio makes these treats super moist and chewy, unlike other recipe I’ve tried in the past where it would come out dry and hard. Sometimes I’ll add sprinkles to the mix, just for fun. Any time I make this recipe it’s a fan favorite!

  3. I use nothing but fruity pebbles and I use the fruity marshmallows, so delicious. I also make cocoa pebbles treats and I use chocolate marshmallows in those. Rice crispys are too bland. Walmart sells the ones you make and for me there’s just not enough flavor.

  4. This recipe was perfect. Made them for a fundraiser. I vamped them by putting a pop stick in them and added some white chocolate and sprinkles. they were adorable and very tasty. I also made them in a jelly roll pan evening them out to the top which made them all perfectly sized.

  5. I want to make this for my Granddaughter’s 1st Birthday, but was planning on using a #1 cookie cutter to make that shape. Wondering if i should spread as deep as the cookie cutter, then cut? Do these stay soft, if I make the day before, they will be soft, not hard for the party the next day? I’m excited to try this recipe. Other recipes are too yellow. The birthday theme is Rainbow, these should be perfect!!

    1. I always recommend that you make krispie treats the day that you are going to serve them, but these should be fine if you make them the day before, but I would wait to cut them into shapes until the day you serve them. They might be a little thick in a 9×9 pan depending on how thin the #1 is, so you can make them in a 9×13 to thin them a bit.

  6. These are so delicious! I don’t think I will make regular rice krispy treats again. I am so glad I found this recipe. I brought them to a party and everyone loved them.

Is it supppsed to be 10oz of marshmallows insteas of 10 cups? A regular size bag of marshmallows is 10oz.

    1. Sure, you can use a 9×13 they will just be a bit thinner…OR you can increase the recipe by half and it will work perfect! If you like them extra thick you can double it 🙂
