These Melting Snowman Oreo Cookie Balls will be the easiest and cutest addition to your cookie tray this year! These festive Christmas cookies are the perfect way to celebrate the holidays!
My kiddo’s most favorite thing that I make are truffles…and by truffles I mean Oreo Cookie Balls. You know the ones…one package of OREO cookies and one block of cream cheese covered in melted chocolate? He has been begging me recently to make some, so I gave in and it was a blast!
My one complaint about making truffles, is trying to make them look perfect. So the two of us came up with an idea to make them where they could look a little messy and “melty” and have it all be part of the master plan. Enter the Melted Snowman.
When I make truffles, I always seem to get the little pool of chocolate around the base, where it drips off…so we decided to take that up a notch! We loved making these together…so fun!
How to Make Oreo Truffles
Just crush your OREO cookies in a zip-top bag and pour the crumbs into a large mixing bowl.
Mix in a softened block of cream cheese and roll them into balls.
Prepare to get your hands messy!
Chill the balls for a bit before dipping them.
While they were chilling we made little Snowman hats using a mini OREO and a Rolo candy…
When you’re ready get your melting candy ready. I dropped about a tablespoon size onto parchment paper and created a little pool. The I dipped the OREO ball in and tapped off the excess, placing the ball right on top of the “candy pool”…
We immediately used mini chocolate chips to create a face and a mini orange candy to make a nose…
You could place the hat on top of the Snowman’s head or even next to him. We did some of both.
I let my kiddo get a little creative also.
He took things very seriously.
When you’re done you will have the cutest little melted snowman! I used some bakers twine around his neck like a scarf!
We just love this Melting Snowman OREO Cookie Ball Recipe! It’s such a fun way to be creative and get the kids involved in the process. You can also use some of the fun different flavors of OREO cookies to make them different!
I made these Snowman Oreo Truffles a few years ago using the Mint OREOs and they were fantastic!
