Salty Churro Toffee Snack Mix

Run, don’t walk, to the kitchen right now and make this.

I feel like that’s all I have to say…

HA. Right. What would this blog be without a whole slew of unsolicited opeenionnnns?

Boring. That’s what it would be.

Anyhow, this snack mix is a riff on my Praline Crack recipe (which you NEED to make if you haven’t already). And between you and me, I should have called it Churro Crack, but the Crack police get on me when I use “crack” in a title. So I opted for the super wordy Salty Churro Toffee Snack Mix, as not to offend.

But between you and me, it’s Churro Crack.

Salty Churro Toffee Snack Mix. This is SO crazy addictive and delicious! Salty/Sweet/Cinnamony/Buttery. PERFECT for parties!

How to Make the Best Snack Mix

It’s so super easy, and really impossible to mess up. Unless you burn it. So don’t do that.

You start with about 5 cups of Oyster Crackers. It’s basically an entire bag. Lay them out on a foil lined baking sheet…

Then boil together some butter and brown sugar and add a dash of cinnamon too. Coat your crackers with that mess…

Stir them to make sure all the crackers get coated evenly.

And bake it up! It will be bubbly and gorgeous.

While it’s in the oven make up a salty, cinnamon sugar…

And as soon as it comes out of the oven sprinkle it all over the top…

Let it cool and then break the crackers apart…

  1. I made this the other day to bring to a friend’s pool. I’m not sure if I’m loving you or super mad at you! ha!! it’s amazing!!!!

  2. This churro mix is the perfect addition to my fall/Halloween dessert tray. I may add candy corn for color but it’s great as is! Love it.

  3. Have you ever made this using Vegan Butter (i.e Earth Balance)? It would make this Dairy Free! Curious for those with food allergies

  4. This looks amazing!! Right along the lines of the caramel puff corn, a snack I can’t stop eating!!

  5. Hello Shelly!

Thanks so much for this recipe. I made it for my daughter’s school bake sale and it came out GREAT! My toughest critics( my husband and daughter) LOVED it. Since the Super Bowl is the day after the sale, I decided to put the mix in bags with gold and red ribbons and called it Super Bowl Sunday Salty Churro Snack Mix. They look and taste great. Thanks again for such a unique, quick and easy recipe.

  6. I just made these for the first time. These won’t last long when my husband tries them. Recipes like this are right up my alley,EASY and amazing. I will definitely be making this recipe again. Thank you for sharing.

  7. I would give this recipe a 10 Star rating if I could!! Just made it for the first time and they are amazing!! And so easy!! Made them for my clients at my Salon, these are going to be the hit of the season!! Again 10 ?? ??????????????????!!

  8. I made this last night as a “try out” for the holidays. I put about a cupful! into a bowl for my husband while they were still warm – and he practically inhaled them. But he didn’t say anything. I was determined not to ask his opinion (especially since I had already decided they are a winner!) and waited. After awhile, he said, “Those would be better if they were bigger – they were the tiniest cookies I’ve ever seen.” LOL Looking forward to making mega-batches for holiday gatherings. Thank you SO much for such and easy, delicious, and different treat.

  9. Thank you so much for including this in your Super Bowl faves! It is now one of our favorites too! My son loves churros and I thought he might like these as well. Problem is, he can barely get his hands on any because my fingers are always in the bowl!
The salt is a perfect touch to the other flavors. Another touchdown, Shelly! (That sounded cuter in my head ?)
