Run, don’t walk, to the kitchen right now and make this.

I feel like that’s all I have to say…

HA. Right. What would this blog be without a whole slew of unsolicited opeenionnnns?

Boring. That’s what it would be.

Anyhow, this snack mix is a riff on my Praline Crack recipe (which you NEED to make if you haven’t already). And between you and me, I should have called it Churro Crack, but the Crack police get on me when I use “crack” in a title. So I opted for the super wordy Salty Churro Toffee Snack Mix, as not to offend.

But between you and me, it’s Churro Crack.

Salty Churro Toffee Snack Mix. This is SO crazy addictive and delicious! Salty/Sweet/Cinnamony/Buttery. PERFECT for parties!

How to Make the Best Snack Mix

It’s so super easy, and really impossible to mess up. Unless you burn it. So don’t do that.

You start with about 5 cups of Oyster Crackers. It’s basically an entire bag. Lay them out on a foil lined baking sheet…

Then boil together some butter and brown sugar and add a dash of cinnamon too. Coat your crackers with that mess…

Stir them to make sure all the crackers get coated evenly.

And bake it up! It will be bubbly and gorgeous.

While it’s in the oven make up a salty, cinnamon sugar…

And as soon as it comes out of the oven sprinkle it all over the top…

Let it cool and then break the crackers apart…

  1. Don’t get me wrong, this is a creative and fun recipe but for us it was sickeningly salty.

Between the butter & oyster crackers, there’s more than enough sodium. Next time we won’t add salt or perhaps we’ll find a substitute for crackers. We were thinkin animal crackers or chex!

Side note: I’m not really sure what you meant by “break the crackers” because in your final picture they look whole like ours. Thanks for sharing

    1. Sometimes the crackers sticks together with the sugar mixture, so it means to break them into pieces. Sorry you thought it was too salty. “Salty” is in the title of the recipe 🙂

  2. I live in Canada. No oyster crackers I could find not mini ritz so I used pretzel goldfish and omitted the salt. Mmmmmmm

    1. Did the goldfish pretzel work? I also want to make this but no oyster crackers any other recommendations?

  3. Happy Christmas!
Thank you for a great gift idea for busy nurses. I made this & packaged in small holiday print ziplocks. I browned the butter before combining with other ingredients, & added 1-1/2 c salted dry roasted peanuts. Yum

  4. Does anyone know if I can use regular salt instead of Kosher? I don’t really want to buy that just for one recipe. I can’t wait to try this out, it sounds so good!

  5. OH MY GOSH, OH MY GOSH, OH MY GOSH, I just made this to take to work tomorrow, I hope I don’t eat it all before then. Oyster cracker crack! I did put the crackers in an 8 cup Pyrex measuring cup and mixed it up in that and I lined my pan with a non stick mat. Thanks for sharing, I think ????!

  6. OMG……this is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!!!! I made it this morning for a party I’m going to tomorrow……hope there’s some left…..I honestly can’t stop eating it!! Thanks soooooo much for sharing the recipe:-))))). I will DEFINITELY be making this again & again!!!

  7. Do you think I could melt the butter and sugar in the microwave?? We are in a “transition” house right now until we move so I don’t have an oven and it’s killing me! Thanks!

  8. WOW these are unbelievably good. They turned out perfectly. The addition of the salt ,cut the sweetness. I also used Splenda brown sugar
