Cream Cheese Alfredo Sauce

15 Minute Easy Cream Cheese Alfredo Sauce is a quick, rich, and flavorful sauce makes your weeknight mealtime even easier!

Make sure to check out my traditional Fettuccini Alfredo sauce too!

Cream Cheese Alfredo Sauce Is Ready In 15 Minutes!

Alfredo Sauce is one of those things that literally everyone in my family will agree on. Seriously, what’s not to love? Butter, cheese, cream… and it’s generally served over a pasta recipe, because carbs coated in creamy sauce is quite possibly the perfect food…I mean as long as you’re not counting your calories/carbs/fat/macros or whatever the diet of the month is.

I make a pretty mean and super simple Fettuccine Alfredo. But if you’re looking for something a little different, and extra creamy, this easy cream cheese Alfredo sauce is a MUST try!

Why Add Cream Cheese to Alfredo Sauce?

Using cream cheese in your Alfredo sauce is a no brainer! It’s ridiculously easy, ultra creamy, and doesn’t do that thing that Alfredo sauces sometimes do…you know, when they separate or gets way too thick. Adding cream cheese is almost like a shortcut way to add creaminess and flavor!

Of course, the longer this Alfredo sauce simmers or sits off the heat, the thicker it will get, but it always stays creamy and pourable, which is fantastic for serving over tortellini, which my kids love.

Ingredients:

  • butter
  • cream cheese
  • minced garlic
  • milk
  • Parmesan cheese
  •  seasoned salt
  • black pepper

Instructions:

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat melt the butter, cream cheese, and garlic together, stirring very frequently.
  2. Add the milk and whisk constantly until smooth and warm.
  3. Add in Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper and stir until thickened, about 5 minutes.
  4. If you would like to add any veggies or protein you can do that now!
  5. Serve over your favorite pasta.

What Can You Add?

You can add peas, mushrooms, chicken, bacon… whatever you want to make this sauce your own. It works perfectly with pretty much everything! You could even use it on white pizza, or on top of a grilled steak!

Cooking Tip

Since this sauce comes together so quickly don’t start it ahead of time…wait until you put your water on to boil for the pasta. This way everything comes together at the same time.

You really can’t ask for an easier, more filling, or family friendly meal for a weeknight dinner!

Description

This is such a quick a creamy pasta sauce, that you can make in under 15 minutes!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1 (8- ounce) package cream cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat melt the butter, cream cheese, and garlic together, stirring very frequently.
  2. Add milk and whisk constantly until smooth and warm.
  3. Add in Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper and stir until thickened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Serve over your favorite pasta.

Notes

Sauce will thicken as it cools, or if simmered too long. If this happens, just add a little more milk.

I used whole milk for this recipe, but you can also use 2%.

This makes enough sauce to coat 1 pound of pasta

  1. My family loved it. I omitted the garlic as my brother dislikes garlic. I doubled the recipe and used half 2% milk & 1/2 liquid whipping cream. I also used packaged grated Parmesan cheese as it was cheaper. The package said there was 2.5 cups in the bag so I just used all of it for the double recipe. The sauce was enough to coat a 1kg package of tortellini plus the chunks of chicken I tossed in there. It was delicious. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

  2. Pasta seems to be our go to on the weekends. This is the only Alfredo sauce I use anymore. Easy, quick and delicious. Can’t ask for a better combination!

  3. If I did make it the night before. could I reheat it and stir it into zucchini pasta? I would love to make this for friends but we have a social event just before the dinner. I was going to have my zucchini already cut in spirals and a salad ready. Thanks.
